I just finished up a dining room. It was a horror, as you can see from the first picture. Three layers on the ceiling and two on the walls. Lots of cracks, some fairly large. All the paper came off, the walls were cross-lined with bridging liner, and anaglypta installed on the ceiling. A deep red Gramercy went on the walls.
I also did two bedrooms for them earlier in November and will be going back to these folks when they're ready for the next phase. Today was dark and snowy, the light was just not good enough for decent pictures. By then, they will have had the floors done, refinished the mantel, new chandelier, furniture moved in, etc.
Edit: After getting the paper off and the walls/ceiling washed down, I used Guardz, then filled and repaired the cracks and holes, then used Guardz again. On the ceiling, I then put a coat of 123 to cover up the dark brown.
