Just started a banquet hall, installing 54" goods with a damask pattern. The wallcovering goes in large decorative boxes above the chair rail. These boxes are all the same height (about 45"), but vary in width from 18" to 132".
In the boxes that are stand alone (between two doors, or one box on a small wall), I will center the pattern. But on some long walls, I have three or four large boxes in a row. These boxes are only 4" apart. The question is this - should I center the pattern in each of these boxes, or continue the pattern from one box to the next and the next? I hope this question makes sense! Help!

My opinion, without seeing the pattern, is to center it in every box. This may deplete your paper supply quicker than the other way, and may even cause you to run short if you measured close. I'm a big fan of symetry, so that's where I come from on this. Jeff

Center every box.

Ditto to Jeff and Cliff. When you look at movies, seperated-out areas are always centered.

Thank you men for those quick replies. I started hanging inside the boxes today. I centered the design in each box and it looks pretty darn good if I have to say so myself!:carrot:
