I am preparing to install 54" vinyl goods as an accent wall in a residence. I saw the vinyl in a commercial application and had to have it (Sanitas Indulgence). It is only sold as 54" goods. I have a good deal of experience installing pre-pasted residential and am comfortable stepping up and trying something new (I work in a hotel and have often watched 54" installation).
The designed pattern has vertical boxes/squares (8" high x 6" wide) on the goods. What I really want on the wall is horizontal boxes. My only option to get this effect would be to install the vinyl horizontally instead of vertically. Do any professional installers have an opinion as to whether this will work. Any risks that you can think of? I would like to try to install as three vertical runs, spanning the entire wall, double-cutting. Any thoughts (other than amatures should stay out of this business)?
