My wallpaper installer put on our bathrrom wallpaper...a day later the color and pattern have disappeared in certain spots on the border.
There was a white powdery residue...it looks terrible.
What is this from?

There are too many variables to say for sure , but a good place to start is : what kind / brand of wallpaper border was it?

Can this white powdery residue be wiped/rinsed off with a damp cloth?

Second question, have you contacted your wallpaper installer and informed him of the problem? Sometimes it is very difficult to diagnose a problem without all the variables known, as Mark alluded. Since your installer is the one with the most info, he would be the first one to turn to.

I hope he can resolve it to your satisfaction.
