Next week I'll be hanging a wallpaper mural for a church. The mural is in sections of 105" by 50" It is a canvas-backed vinyl with a protective finish. Each piece has a 1/2" overlap on each side and an extra inch at the top and bottom. It's going on both sides of an L shaped hallway. The mural was custom designed for this hallway, taking care not to have artwork being cut into by doors, light switches, etc. Each peice is individually labeled and has a specific location on the wall. The only advice from the manufacturer I received was use a comercial grade wallpaper glue and start in the middle. I'm hoping to gets some tips from someone who's had experience with murals or hanging canvas.

These murals are nice to hang. They are like a light weight vinyl. Hang with clay or clear. overlap to match pattern and doublecut. Wash off with water and towel dry.
I hung a four panel one yesturday in resturant with no problems.

Thanks. This one is about 38 panels. Someone suggested pasting the wall instead of the panel. Is this a good idea?

Thats a big mural. How wide are these panals?
As for pasting. Try it both ways. walls or material , See what works best for you. I think pasting material makes the material more relaxed and plyable. Every hanger has their favorite options.

Hi Carolyn
Paste the panels with clay strippable. You may want to set up two tables so you do not drag the murals over the edge of the table. Use a laser. Make sure the wall is primed well. If you have a 6' scaffold use it. To me it is easier to align panels with a wide deck under me. Have fun. I think the most panels I had was 74 in one mural. I had a 14' high by 35' hand painted mural last week with at least 6 people from the musum all with cameras and the artist photographer taking photos also. Then one of the artist shows up to do touch up. But he had no touch up to do. Nice visit, good people. Call if you want more information.

Thanks for the advice. I put up 4 panels today. I didn't get to start until about 2:30. I have a helper. We've been pasting the wall and working off of 2 step ladders. It went pretty well. I don't think I could do it alone. The panels are 50" wide. The pattern doesn't seem to be matching up perfect.
