I am a woodworker, i have a project where we must apply Paper backed crumpled linen to a wood panel substrate for installation on a metal grid system
we need to tuck the fabric covered paper around the edges of the wood panel prior to installation, I know it will be impossible for some one in the future to strip and rework this, but i am a little wary of getting a bond around a sharp corner using paper paste. The fabric has a convoluted pattern and the panels are small so sticking with contact will be easy, any way i would hate to have this stuff bubble up in 2 mos.

Thanks for your forum

If you treat this as a paperhanger would:
-prime the wood panels: best- alkyd (all sides) and then wallcovering acrylic; good: just the acrylic
-use a clear heavy duty clear wallcovering paste. you can either paste the material, and then give it 3-5 min. to expand & relax, or lightly mist the backing and paste the panels, and then apply the material. A thin application of adhesive is sufficient. Do not allow water or paste to hit the face of the material.
- wrap the material around to the backside of the panels, adhere with paste, and maybe staples.
-allow material to dry overnight before handling.

Feel free to use the Find a Paperhanger function on this site for your assurance of a quality product.
