To all Attendees:

There are a couple of things I want to stress so that you can avoid problems, and get the most out of this workshop:

-Bring your hand tools!
-If flying, put your tools in a box and check it as baggage.
-If flight/time constraints leave you unable to check baggage, let us know & we'll be able to lend you the sharp tools that won't go through onto a plane: broad knife, blades, scissors.
-I advise using quarters to pay the MARTA fare ($1.75) from the airport (to staion N-9, Dunwoody). The turnstiles get funky.
-The hotel has a shuttle that can take you from the MARTA (train) station to the hotel (770) 457-6363. Please call one of the cell #'s below if they are not prompt, or if it is late. The station is safe, but this is a big city.
-The NGPP rate for the hotel is $79/night (plus local taxes). If you did not get that rate, alert the clerk at check-in. If that does not work, tell me (Chris) and we'll get 'er done.
-Bring business cards! Take names & numbers, and notes on the stationary provided.
-After the show, if you can plan on grabbing a dozen or so of your new closest friends and have a night out. We all deserve it.

Any questions, problems, snafus, call these cell phones:
-Chris Murphy: (404) 368-3063
-KL Conner: (706) 540-5495
-John Little: (770) 380-7355
-Walter Green: (770) 329-7040
-Doug Berry: (770) 846-4743

I like your style, all the way to the last minuscule detail!
Keep the Good Work.

I try, Ed! We'll pictures, and thanks so much for the liner- that'll make some great door prizes.
Folks were happy to learn that Cavlier is selling a replacement for the defunct Eisenhart Master Wall Liner. I'll be spreading the word.

Approximate workshop totals: 83 paperhangers, 13 vendors/reps

Thsi photo: me & John Sherman, w/ his Flavor Paper.

KL & Jody Conner will be hanging that pattern (a Mylar) in an Athens, GA restaurant. Customer had dissed their quote; then John came to town, visiting one of his customers who I had hung for. Suddenly, the $13-15/roll sounded suspicious to the restaurant folks......

Benefits of the NGPP, and workshops.

In back: Jack Ford (Zinsser), Phil Curtis, Roberta Welk, Pam Mc Cartney, Cyndi Green. In front: Jennifer Curtis, Lillian Weist, Nate Bergman, Steven Kaye.

A good time had by all!

PS: notice how the little kids are always by Cyndi?!

Actually, I took none; my camera was stolen outta my luggage (bad move on my part) at the BOD meeting in Jan. But I've got about 150 or more from Jennifer Chiles, Buffy Groves and Cyndi Green. And Phil Curtis filmed both workshops. Buffy & Jennifer are writing up the workshops for the Installer, so I'm kinda holding back so I don't 'scoop' them! Byt heck, here goes.........
First shot is of our fabulous walls. Over 80 running feet of space, 6' high they were hung rehung and hung again. The Modzelewskis, Rhonda & Terry, are the ATL Chapters newest members and just one of their special contributions was the moldings that were put up to practice templating on.
Second pic is our newest member(as soon as the transaction goes through), who was found/corralled by Lillian Weist. Lillian came early to ATL to work with Pat Collins. While here they ran into Linda Di Gennares (sp? sorry, computer lost my files!) a newly retired Bellsouth employee, after 27 yrs. of service. Looking for a second career, and still young (everyone younger than me is "young"), she came to the workshop. Lent her some extra tools, and she had a fine time. She'll be a good addition. And what a great intro to the NGPP!

I posted a lot of pictures on the APN already, so if you're not on there, you're missing out. All will be given to Gary & the Website Committee, for their use.
First picture: Joan Hobbs's son Nathan (I think!) tries a mind-meld on Danny Murdock as Dan attempts the wheel trimmer.
Second: the bunch from Illinois leave their mark with some dandy work on the Maya Romanoff mother-of-pearl. Check them bad-boy moldings out. This wasn't no foolin' around.

Now, when the Atlanta Chapter- the NGPP's best chapter- of the Southeast Region- the NGPP's best region- throws a show, it's something not to be missed. Not many did.

It was a darn hectic coupla' days, but well worth it. The tips & techniques that were traded when some of the industries toughest materials- polyolefin, Mylar, screen prints, wood veneer, bamboo, et al- were on the tables was fantastic.

10 tables, no waiting! Well, almost. But we had some masters with their tables to help with attendees as they tried the techniques and materials: Steve Ayers, Alan Coopersmith, Walter Green, Rob Delbridge, Gary Lucas, Danny Murdock, and of course KL Conner, the man with no fear, but with a wife who has free rein with an American Express card.

The wife's yellin' at me; gotta go. But before I leave, we did have some fun.......
