Anyone have suggestions/tips for installing fabric over cushioning on walls?
I have a small powder room coming up in which the designer wants fabric installed over padding on the walls.

Thanks

Need more details, wainscott, top walls, etc. Usually when material is hung over a padded backing it will in include a tack strip on the edges. (sometimes a screen moulding wrapped in the matching material, similar to a furniture finish Staple first and then apply the strips, pre cut of course. (legal disclaimer, I could be wrong.)

not many details yet as the walls are being plastered this week.
the powder room is under the stairs so the high wall is 7+ ft hi and the opposite wall is 3 1/2 ft hi.
not sure of tile/wainscot maybe just base & door casing.

probably the end of the month before I'm ready to do it.

Thanks

I've done this a couple times where we've installed fabric over batting on walls.
The process we used is as follows
Apply furring strips with screws and glue around everything on the walls. (ie. door frames, light switches, vanitys, etc.) This is what the material will be stapeled to.
Install the batting inside of this framework.
Install the fabric over this material.
Use cording and a hot glue gun to cover the staples.

These are very simplistic instructions and a lot of other issues will need to be worked out beforehand. For instance, are you going to hang it in panels or seam all the pieces togather before installing.

A good seamstris (sp) or upholsterer would be a valuable resource.
Good Luck,
