remove silks

how safe is it to remove silk wallpaper with a steamer, i have a wall that has an old silky for about 50 years and want to clean it because of dust and smoke, dont' want to get rid of it, but just want to remove it and clean it. if i cant put it back, at least i would like to clean it and save he dragon patern it has..thank you

Call your local rug cleaning business and most of them will dry clean it for you on the wall,at least they have done mine.

this will be my last post, i will never visit this site again. i find it useless i found another site with alot of more information and much friendlier than this. i would give you the link to the site i found the answer to my question but this place doesn't allow linking. go figure.
