Hi, I am working on a cafe/lounge in the Boston area and want to use a wallpaper similar to the two images attached. The first is made of a bamboo pulp. Does anyone know if these will need to be fireproofed for a commercial setting to meet CAL 133 fire code? If so any idea as to who might be able to help locally? If not does anyone have any reccomendation on similar products that pass CAL 133 and are suatable for commercial use?
Thanks,
George

Most commercial goods are fire rated.Check with the manufacturer.I don't know of anything the installer can do to fireproof. That being said there are some fireproofing products on the market for fabrics and furniture( i.e Dupont Kevlar Fireblocker)but I am not sure applicable to wallpaper.Best to check directly with manufacturer.Very nice wallcovering selections though.Maybe some of our wallpaper scientists can chime in.

George,
The picture on the right is of a Modular Arts products, which is fireproof. Do not recognise the other one. as Guy says, if it is wallcovering intended for commercial applications, it probably is adequately fire rated. If not, can you "interest" the client in another Modular Arts product closely resembling the one on the left ?

Hey guys thanks for your help. Yes I can interest them with something similar. I wanted to use the Modular Arts product because of the design impact but also because it passes code. The suggestion was shot down though becuase of cost (low budget, high expectations). Any suggestions you may have for any similar products would greatly be appreciated.
Many thanks,
George

Sorry George, I have not had the time or motivation to research.

Ever considered joining our little organization of experienced professional paperhangers, coming to a chapter meeting and tapping into about 200 years of collective experience ????
Sorry, couldn't resist the shameless plug
But seriously, i'll bet your chapter dues that if you joined and participated, our little band of merry men and women would give you some ideas to fulfill the criteria.
