I live in a very humid part of the country and have purchased beautiful pre-pasted "Vinyl Coated Wallpaper" to put on my new walls which are drywall and primered. Someone told me to apply Paste to my "Pre-Pasted paper. Do I wet the wallpaper as directed and then apply the paste to the wall? Do I dilute the thick paste? I have purchased "Vinyl to Vinyl" paste but I do not know what to do with it. Any help will be greatly appreciated

I have a few questions to ask you about your project?
What are your walls primed with?
It must be primed with a good quality Wallcovering Primer. Not paint or paint primer. A product made especially for wallcovering.
If it is a non woven.. The instructions may tell you to paste the wall.
If so be sure to apply the adhesive smoothly to the wall. Be sure to get the top and bottom of the wall evenly covered.
When we have a pre pasted paper.. We use an activator. The activator is rolled onto the back of the pre pasted paper. This product is already pre thinned to the correct consistancy.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE VINYL OVER VINYL ADHESIVE!!
This is not the correct adhesive for pre pasted paper. This will cause a whole different set of problems..

Thank you for your response. the contractor used PrepCoat and then a Latex primer.

You can also make a pre-pasted activator out of Roman's Heavy Duty Clear - roughly 2 parts adhesive to 1 water. Lately I've been polling clients who say "never again" to hanging wallpaper simply by asking "was it pre-pasted?"
Every one of them said "yes".
There are two reasons for this; one is, all the excess moisture that comes from dipping can cause a lot of expansion and contraction - seam movement (opening or overlapping), the other - different wallpaper manufactures put different amounts of paste on the back of their product. That can cause a little confusion, what to speak a lot of slipping and sliding.
Professional paperhangers like to get control over all this by using their own mix, enough to activate what's on there, but without all the excess moisture.
I hope this helps and not  confuses.

Thanks to everyone for your response. You have given me excellent advise, and kept a disaster from happening. I am going to get the pre-paste activator and get to work. Thanks again, Weezee
