I could use some input folks...
I've a job I looked at today where the majority of the new install will be over an existing vinyl substrate. There's a paste residue still in place.
My better judgment says to seal the existing residue since I don't know what's under it. I'm assuming the removed vinyl was not put on with VOV or it would not have stripped. My hunch is that someone clear primed the existing and hung atop it.
If I did seal...gardz?? Topped with Romans Ultra-Prep (Pro 977)??
Do I take the risk and install directly over the residue??
Anybody ever had success dry stripping a vinyl overlay hung with VOV??
Input appreciated...ask away and I'll provide any missing details.
