This auction benefits the widow of Jeff Singer. Regular readers of The Straight Edge and The Bulletin Board remember Jeff was our Vice President in the Metro/NY chapter and passed away from Lymphoma earlier this year. We will be auctioning off a 30” Paste Well donated originally by Alan Rada. We auctioned off this Paste Well at our chapter’s Year End Party in June this year. The proceeds of this auction went to Helane Singer. The bidding was won by our new Vice President, Mike Giordano. He immediately donated it back to the chapter to auction off on this forum with the stipulation that the proceeds also go to Helane.

This Paste Well is for materials 30 inches in width or less. It is used but is in good condition. It comes with a full set of instructions and counter. A picture is attached. Upon checking shipping costs, shipping via UPS and FedEx was prohibitive. And unfortunately the USPS does not handle anything this size. So we ask bidders either be able to arrange for pick-up in Buffalo or live in the New York Tri-State area. If you want to participate from outside this area I implore you to check shipping cost calculators on the FedEx and UPS websites before bidding as they were so high we cannot afford to ship to you. A box this size would weigh in the neighborhood of 100 lbs and be at least 40 inches by 24 inches by 24 inches (Just a guestimate).We ask that bids be made on this thread and be in $5 increments. If you are a non-NGPP member who posts on this site please send a private message to the poster with your real name and contact info if it is not in your “Public Profile.” Thanks for understanding. The bidding will continue until Sunday August 2nd at 12:00 Noon. At which time the Paste Well will go to the highest bidder. So without further ado let the bidding begin;

Jeff’s 62 inch Paste Well will hopefully be auctioned off at a later date when we can get pictures to post.

Tool hound that I am, I'd like to start off the bidding with an offer of $250.

And may I suggest that the NY chapter could transport the machine to the convention in Niagara, in the event that an out-of-area winner planning to attend might be able to take possession of it in September?

Just thoughts.... ;-)

Thanks for the bid Cliff. I stand corrected Niagara not Buffalo.

I have just received an e-mail from Ed Hovnanian from Cavalier Liners. They have donated a case of their heavy duty liner to go with the paste well. This is a $190 value. That ups the ante a little bit. Thank you very much Ed and Greta.
