I am a small contractor in Ontario Canada.I have a customer who has a problem with something eating the wallpaper,he has been told it is some type of mite doing this. I have found no answers to how to resolve this. If anyone has heard of this or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

What do you mean when you say "eating the wallpaper?" If ink is flaking off in spots, as suggested by the title of your post, then the most likely culprit is adhesive residue left on the face of the paper by a sloppy installer. Give the paper a good rinse with a wet sponge, and the disintegration will stop. If a bug is eating the paper, call an exterminator. "Wallpaper mites"? I don't think so.
