Is any one aware of the standards that go into effect in April?

From what I understand it is a one day class.

May be fodder for regional Guild workshops?

Thank you Dick.

This is serious sh!t. Please make sure you understand the new regs if you work in homes, schools, and day cares built prior to 1978.

Generally speaking, we as paperhangers do not disturb the substate to fall under this soon to be enacted legislation, BUT it would be wise to fully understand it.

Those that paint in the defined buildings WILL be affected by the new standards. And it would be best to comply.

BTW, back in the mid 80's while I was still painting, me and my partner experienced elevated lead levels. If I remember correctly I was in the low 50's ppm while he was flirting with the real danger zone. This is not something anyone of you wants to deal with, let alone being responsible for inflicting on others.

Just words to the wise.

Dick,
Be sure to check out the information in The Installer coming out in the next few days-it has an article about the New Rules for Lead Safe remodeling.

Pat,

Do we have or can we get permission to copy the Installer article (New Rules for Lead Safe remodeling)?

I would like to post it on the bulletin boards at the local paint stores and give to friends in other trades that are affected.

Thanks
