Measured up a funeral home today where the existing wallcovering is Fabra-Wall, installed in the early '90's.* It is not a track mounted system but seems to have been adhered to the wall by a solvent based spray adhesive.*

Upon test removal of one area the face fabric delaminates from the 1/4" foam which stays stuck to the substrate. Old yellow, soft, degrading foam.* Wall underneath looks to be well primed drywall, but how to get all that foam mess off and make it ready for a new vinyl installation?* I'm assuming dry shaving with a razor scraper, then sanding the snot out of it.*

Wondering about adhesion of the primer over the yellow adhesive residue. Also wondering if it would be easier to just haul off the drywall (which was laminated over the concrete block in order to create a smooth surface for the Fabra-Wall to be installed in the first place) and start over. The laminated drywall has created some odd built out edges which the fabric wrapped nicely but not so sure about the more inflexible vinyl.* Stuff spec'd is a mock silk - not a lot of texture.* Thoughts anyone?
