Hi, I'm a New Guy here !
I live in Western Kentucky, was a native of Western New York and went to Ky with the Company I was working for and lost my job in the downsizing of the 80's .
I liked where I was and started working for a local Painter/Paperhanger. I enjoyed the work and eventually moved about 20 miles away and began my own Painting,Paperhanging,Pressurewashing company of me, myself, and I.
I enjoy the work too much to leave it and become a Busnessman just running the jobs for others to work them.
I spent a bit of time doing Bridge Painting, spent a summer up on the Mackinaw Bridge in Mich.
Ended up damaging my knee in Ohio and after surgery and "light duty only" decided that ended the Bridge Painting for me.
I have a local Painting Contractor that Subs his Paperhanging to me, I have a couple of Interior Decorators that reffer me to their clients, and have refferals from Paint Stores and Lumber Yards.
I also do some out of town work Painting and Paperhanging some Clothing Stores in the South East for a National Contracting Firm I met a couple of years ago.
My Kids are either Married, in Colledge, or working, and My Wife Sometimes gets to come with me out of town.
A few years ago I felt led to diversify as best I could to get ready for what was coming. And, it seems to be paying off.
I'll do the Little Old Lady Jobs and if She asks me to fix this or that, I'll do it but ask Her not to Tell anyone so as not to appear as a handy-man.
I'm not used to talking [witing] about myself so much.
I had a difficult Paper to hang and was having problems with the hanleling of it and that's what led me to search the web for a forum to ask questions to better Hangers than I.

Welcome,

Haven't I seen your moniker somewhere else :roflmao: :roflmao:

Yes, you should ask that question here you posed on PT.

Yea, you might think it's funny Bill but I was goin nuts tryin to find as many forum boards as possible to get some help handlin that crazy stuff.
My "helper" pulled up sick just b-4 this out of town job, so I was working the 11 foot sheets off the lift by my lonesome !
I still think, but I don't want to go there, is to put the bolt on the floor and pull it up to a pasted wall may be the best way to do it.

A "best way" will come to me yet ! Tom

Tom, Good to hear from Marshall Co. folks. I install wallcoverings in the Central Kentucky region and would be happy to talk with you. Years ago I went to school and graduated from Murray State. I know many, folks from your area and visit a couple times a year. If I can be of any assistance , let me know.

Thanks Bob !

Are you a Regional Director of NGPP ?
Do you have a profile somewhere on here to read ? I'll do some exploring and see.
I've tried to post my question about handling a diff. Metalized Commercial Non-Woven twice on here but both times when I submitt it, it kicks me out and says I have not logged in when I'm possitive that I have.
I will do some exploring.
Thanks for responding and letting me know your out there Bob ! Tom

Well Bill, gotta get to know the grounded ones and the "out there" ones to be able to establish what the average is I guess. (or to know who's plumb and who's 1/2 a bubble off)

How do you get the Quote on your responses to follow your posts, does it do that automatically ?

How do you get the Quote on your responses to follow your posts, does it do that automatically ? If you hit the button below the post, Reply With Quote, you'll get the whole post you are replying to. What I did for your line was copy it, and then hit the button in the toolbar under Quick Reply, (after hitting Reply) the 'cartoon balloon' button, and then pasted the quote into it. Try it out, I don't have the proper terminology to explain it more clearly.

Tom,

Just to elaborate on what Chris said. When you do a "quick reply" you will notice this button above the text window
http://www.ngpp.org/lounge/images/editor/quote.png

click it and it will show you
If you put the cut and paste that Chis mentioned between the bracketed "Quotes" you will get somthing like this
How do you get the Quote on your responses to follow your posts, does it do that automatically ?

Now if you place an equal sign right after the word QUOTE and then a person's name, like this
You should get this:
How do you get the Quote on your responses to follow your posts, does it do that automatically ?

Now if you want to quote a number of posts in your one post, click the little button that the red arrow points to at the lower right of each post you want to quote:

1977

and then hit one of the "Reply with Quote"

and you'll see all the quoted posts in their own separate bubbles.

Have I confused you enough yet ?

This is the "Quote" I was wondering if it follows each post you do.

Yes, I guess you have confused me well enough for one night.

Thanks Chris,

I think I've sniffed too much Vinal today and better not try any more "fancy" stuff.
I appreciate the helpful tip, and will try again later.

Tom,

that quote is a "sig file" as it is called in internet parlance, or on these vBulletin boards, just a "signature". You can make your signature say anything (within the bounds of decency) you want. In the upper right corner, hopefully you will see either "settings" or "my settings" (depending which "skin" you've chosen). Click it. On the left of the next screen hopefully you will see an option to "Edit Signature". You can compose what you want there. If it is inappropriate, we'll let you know (your first clue is finding yourself on the village green with your head and hands sandwiched in a strange wooden vise-like thing :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:)

Use that page to customize all sorts of things.

Now are you less confused ???
