I am going to hang anaglyptic paper on a ceiling that is 19 feet high, which is in itself a challenge, but on top of that the ceiling has a knockdown effect. The construction is new, 5yrs. or so, primed, with flat ceiling paint over drywall. Since adhesion depends on surface contact, and adhesive. Is it possible, and or wise to paper directly over knockdown with proper sealing of the surface, or is skim coating and then sealing the surface the only solution?
