We're fairly new to installing wallpaper, with about 12 projects under our belt. With the prepasted vinyls I've noticed that the edges don't want to adhere to the wall, they seem to curl up. We're using prepasted activator, on Drywall that has been primed with pre-wallcovering primer (Zinser product). I'm guessing maybe a different of better adhesive/paste would do the trick, what do the pro's recomend?

I've never had much success with store bought activators.
I always thin down some Dynamite 234, and use that.

ProWallGuy-
Thanks, is that just a heavy Duty Clear? We have very little to choose from in the way of Paperhanging supplies in my area. Some do stock the Roman's products. I'll look around for the 234.

Sherwin Williams can order the Dynamite 234.
Porter Paints sells it as either Pro-Vantage, or Versatite, same stuff, just relabeled.
ICI stores sell it as their 'house brand' clear. Can't remember the specific name for it.
For pre-pasted vinyl's, you could probably also use Roman's 880, or 838.

The 880 has better wet tack and makes a great "activator" when thinned about 50-50.
I find that 234 does not thin as well, needs to be strained through collander. BTW, ICI name for 234 is Heavy Duty Clear
Phil. where are you from?
Around here ( easterrn Mass) Gardner-Gibson adhesives (Dynamite) are very hard to find.

Bill,
I'm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, very rural area. It looks as though the Sherwin Williams offers the 234 in their pro-buy sale. We already have some 880 on hand, we'll give it a shot in our next "practice" session.
Thanks for the help, I think we're on the right track, though these useful tidbits really help. A few more profitable jobs and we're joining NGPP.

Our pleasure to help, Phil
I drove up the Eastern Shore a year ago from Annapolis, I understand your "ruralness". I'm envious.
Tish Iorio lives in Annapolis and could be a good reference as to where to obtain specific products. But if S-W can get you 234, you should be all set. BUT, whenever S-W advertises 234 around here, the stores never actually have it but can "get it soon". Hope it's different down there.
BTW, just think, if you join the Guild now, ALL your jobs will be profitable ;) ;)
It's a horse and cart thing, gotta put the correct one first

Bill,
I hear ya, We'll be joining soon, I'm still kind of shocked to find an association of some sort that really has anything to offer little old me. My brother is hanging all our paper, I bought him the ASPA video training course (A+). Also puchased a ton of wallpaper to practice with. A ton may sound like an exageration, but I bet 1200 rolls may come close to a ton. Thanks again to you and ProWallGuy. You'll be hearing from me again soon.
