hi,
i have bought some paper from cole & son product code 66-60044
can view it here link to paper (http://www.cole-and-son.com/popup.asp?ID=66-6044.jpg&SKQ=66-6044)
it is for a small bathroom so i bought 4 rolls
started job walls prepped, came to putting paper up and as it was such a expensive and heavy patterened paper decided to cut and paste one at a time.
started in the hardest place a section involving some pipework top section went on ok but when it came to bending it behind pipes found that the printing on the paper flaked off, so scrapped that piece and tryed another which also did the same only not as much so left that one on wall hoping i wouldnt be to annoyed at the missing print on the creases in a weeks time!!
carried on a little gentler and more cautious, next bit was over sink as such pretty easy only a couple of cuts to fit round splashback tiles, as i made the cuts pulling paper from the wall then smoothed back with finger print again flaked away causing a really jagged horibble mess
by this time i was getting nervous so decided to get advice from shop where paper was bought i was told
"we sell 10000"s of rolls a year its a fad at the moment dont you know. we get no complaints save a couple of phone calls"
i asked and what do you say to them
"because the paper is so absorbent you should paste the wall first then hang dry paper to that"
my question is is this correct and does any one have any other suggestions for better or worse??
i am a little weary to try as it is costing £38 a roll and i have already wasted 1 1/2 rolls
thanks for any assistance
