I have a designer that wants me to hang the lenth of a barrel ceiling with a trimed handprinted paper. The sheets are 17 ft' long.I am afraid that the curve of the barrel is uneven.making the seam hard to line up.The pattern does repeat it self half way threw the sheet making it possable to double cut.Any suggestions?Rusty:confused:

Don't you sometimes wonder how you get yourself into these messes? Is it ever really worth the money and the aggravation? That said, since its a ceiling, and probably a high one because of the barrel shape, if you had to overlap the seams in a few spots it probably won't be noticeable.

The trick is to make it worth the money and aggravation going in. You know darn well the barrel shape will be 'out of round.' The overlap needed to double-cut probably won't be 1/2", and like tomcat said, is most likely far enough away from the viewer to not be noticed. If you overlap you'll need to view that in all possble lighting, as the overlap may be noticeable at different times of the day/night. If you double-cut, prime a stripe of Gardz or DrawTite under the cut (and size or sand for tooth if needed).
