View Full Version : Is there anyway to remove wallpaper border, save it, and reuse it later?

My grandma special ordered some wallpaper border a few years ago, and she just loves it. But now she is going to be moving, and she'd like to take the border with her and reuse it, if that is possible. I told her I would look online, but so far I haven't found anything that talks about this.....

So..... does anyone here know of any way to remove wallpaper border and keep it in one piece, so that it could be put up again?

Oh, the border is probably about 8 inches tall, and it is put up directly onto the (painted) drywall.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, or advice.
Thanks!

The short answer to your question is ...No! The chances of getting it off without destroying it are very slim. If it were a fabric backed vinyl (doubtful) and If it was not put on with a vinyl-over-vinyl adhesive then there might be a chance for someone with a lot of experience at removal. If you can give any more information about the material perhaps I could make some kind of recomendation, but I am not hopeful.

Then again,if it were not properly installed,it might just pull off the wall, especially a semi gloss painted one.See if you can pull a corner loose and go from there, but as Dave said, chances are not good.
