What painters tape should I use?

I am in the process of painting a room with a wallpaper border already applied. Since I can not purchase the same paper, and really love the one that is already there, can someone tell me what painters tape should I use to tape around existing border before I start painting??
    Thank you.

The better bet would be to paint neatly so that you don't have to mask the border. If that's not an option, Scotch/3M makes a Safe-Release tape (product #2070) that has the same adhesion as 3M Post-It notes. It's so low-tack that it may not even stick to the border, but you can be assured that it won't harm it, either. It's white tape. It's commonly available at better paint stores, and a 50m roll of 1-1/2" wide should set you back about $6 or $7.

    Thumbs up Test, Test ,Test

As mentioned in previous post , paint neatly is the best option. If not able to do so then go to your local paint and decorating store and ask for their " low tack" tape. If you have any amount of the border left you can place some tape on it and leave overnite to see how it pulls off in A.M. or following day. If you don't have any border left try another border of similiar quality.

    Good luck,
    Mark
