    Mural

Here's a mural that was painted about 10 years ago. It was hand painted on heavy canvas. The edges were wrapped and glued with a 4 in. strip of glue. The cost of the mural was $40,000. It was used in an old and exclusive country club as a background for the band. It was 10 ft. by 30 ft. A company was paid to store the mural for a few years, but they did a terrible job. We found dead crickets and trash on it. We had to clean it first. Then we flipped it over and with heat guns I reactivated the glue. Using 6 in. knives and a 5 in 1 tool I scrapped off the excess glue. The mural ended up going into the house of an NBA owner. They ended up calling in the artist to retouch up due to wear and bad storage. Now, the artist is painting a second half to this mural which will go through some doors and be as big as the first mural. Here are a few pictures of the project I just finished.

    Rusty,

How did you install the mural and what was your choice of adhesive?

Well done and good pictures. Shawn

Thank you for your kind words. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I just got back from a fishing trip. It was a really pretty simple installation. The hard part was getting the glue off of the back. We primed the walls with clay base, just a light coat so as not to give it a texture. The second coat we let it tack up and unrolled it and stuck it to the walls. The second half of the mural is being painted now. It will go through doorways and when we cut the doors we will probably only have 1/8 " to work with because the doors will not be wrapped. I'll post some more pictures when the mural is finished and it is installed. Rusty
