Chapter membership

I am considering joining the NGPP and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what additional benefits joining a chapter might yield. I live in central Pa and the closest chapter is Shillington (3 hour drive for me). Would it be worth the additional dues and how much are the dues. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

After going to conventions year after year, I am always wishing there were enough installers in my area to form a chapter. But there are not, therefor I try to make all the conventions. I was not able to attend this year and I absolutely hated not being able to go.
So I would say "Yes! Join a chapter."

Just this week I needed to replace wallpaper in a stair well (hole in wall caused by 400 lb bathtub that broke its bonds as it was being hauled up the stairs - OOUCH!)

There was not enough paper to go from corner to corner. One section was three strips wide between two existing seams, a fourth piece was from existing seam to a corner.

What I had learned from Chapter meetings and members and what I had learned at conventions enabled me to strip and piece in flawlessly, and thus save multiple butts.

We learn from each other. Chapters are where me meet and learn.
