I appreciate you coming here to introduce yourself, and making the company accessible to installers: that's a touch that other manufacturers should take note of.

One problem I've had, is that it has been hard to determine just who is selling the products here these days. Lee Jofa handles it now? The old designs work well in old houses, but we could use some updated designs for more modern homes, and in new versions of "Craftsman" homes. I think your products would do well here, once again, with more exposure and some updated designs.

Re: Lincrusta Application, Decoration & Restoration

Coincidence: I looked at a possible Lincrusta job Thursday. It was a bamboo motif, and I measured for under a chair rail in the foyer and up the stairs. Figuring efficiently, I need 2 bolts (33'), if I could use 32 of the 33' in the second. I will probably order 3 because my experience with past Lincrusta orders is that the last foot or two on the bolt was unusable: cracked, bent, chipped. Andy, do you find the material's condition any differently? Or is my experience based on goods that were old or mishandled?

Re: Lincrusta Application, Decoration & Restoration

    Hi chris,

Thanks for your question, When Lincrusta leaves the UK the product is in A1 condition, please be aware that the product has a shelf life of 18 months from Production so on top of the box will be a date stamp ie 12 Sept 2010 that is the production date and you have 18 months from that date to apply the product to the wall. So if this is the case you should return the product to the supplier.

The Lincrusta will never be damaged at all in any part of the roll.
    regards

Lincrusta has never had an issue as far as we are concerned

Re: Lincrusta Application, Decoration & Restoration

Welcome Andy. I wish all British and American suppliers were as forthcoming as you. I went to the lincrusta.com website and must say it is really very attractive.

I live in the suburbs of New York City where there are all sort of wall surfaces from sheetrock/drywall to plaster. Have you ever been to the US as a Lincrusta representative and surveyed the array of installation products (adhesives, liners, etc) here that are generally available to the trade? For instance are you familiar with strippable non-woven liners which might be a good choice for clients who want ease of removability for a Lincrusta installation on sheetrock/drywall.
It is my opinion that all corporate associates should be tossed from the NGPP as members...no exceptions.
We should then reinvite them in as our guests, but never take corporate money ever again.

Re: Lincrusta Application, Decoration & Restoration

    Dear Parodi,

Yes I am aware and have used such products, They work brilliantly, But it depends what adhesve is used with the Liner (Non woven), re how well it will strip Off

We will be working with the US, in the coming months, but as yet I cannot explain how, keep watching this space.

My colleague will be visiting the US, I know he is going to Vegas to a big expo with one of our distributors, and New York.

Any further questions please pm me

    Regards

    Andy

Re: Lincrusta Application, Decoration & Restoration

I doubt any "non-woven" liner would work as well as muslin (or canvas) as a strippable liner. Fabrics would be able to be pulled off a properly primed surface with no wall damage when used with a strippable paste (those pastes 'fracture' and release). They also can be ordered in sizes big enough to be seamless.
