Well I for one am hoping that this year we'll see some interest in the upcoming elections. It will be interesting to see who throws their hat in for the Executive Board positions.

The By-laws call those positions "Officers": President, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, Treasurer and Secretary. All those positions are up for election this year.

Okay, I'll start. I have thought very hard about what I want to do for the Guild and have turned in my name to run as a candidate for President. I think that you will find that you will have choices this year, and I am proud to say that I'm honored to run with the nominees that I believe will be getting their names in as well. Everyone of us wants what we feel is best for the guild. It will be up to you to make the decision on what you want for the Guild as well. You can probably look for bios coming out in May. I think it will be an honorable race for all involved.

I'll second Tim's applause. I do hope that other members run for positions in this election and in next year's, for the Regional Director positions. Positions going to the only candidate running is not healthy for the organization. I would hope that members expressing discontent with Guild issues put their time where their mouth is, and become candidates for elected Guild positions. I'd also hope that those that see a future for the industry, for paperhangers, for the Guild, also put their names in the ring. Seeing if one can get support for a position or platform or idea is the real test of whether those thoughts are currently viable. The industry has been a mess for decades; we've all felt the pinch- it's tough out there. Putting some effort into the Guild isn't altruistic, it comes back to those who put it in, and I speak from experience.

Very Well said Chris. I have been on the board for all but two terms since I joined the Guild. During the off terms, I was the alternate for the region. I want so much for new people to step up and take the leadership rolls. It has to be done. It is not healthy for the same people to serve in the same positions year after year. I see the Guild from a different prospective when I am not on the active board. The At Large members see it differently than the Chapter members view it. We love it when new members step forward. We welcome members to walk in our shoes, anytime.
I look forward to each years elections. Nominate someone to run!

Hello to all, I would like to take this moment and express to you that I am running for 1st National Vice President. I am honored and espress that I feel it is my duty to help this wonderful organization in succeeding to accomplish its goals.
Therefore I ask all of you in supporting me in helping our organization move it forward, in accomplishing our goals.
Thank you,
Vincent J. LaRusso C.P.
I have been in business for 32 years. In 2000, I saw what the NGPP had to offer and joined. I have been an active member since, trying to give back as much as Ive gotten. I started writing articles for The Installer in 03, and eventually became Editor and Communications Chair (05-07). I was the Southeast Region Director from 04-06. In that job, I helped lead the Atlanta Workshop. I am currently on the Standing Rules/By-laws Committee.
Although its been some time since I graduated (Binghamton University, 76), I used my 16 credit hours in Accounting to do my business and family taxes until I incorporated. Those courses taught me how to read and interpret financial statements. Being knowledgeable about the By-laws and non-profit procedure will allow me to help soundly guide the Guild as an organization. I ask for your vote as Treasurer of the NGPP.
